Brown Acid Flashback

Please check out our album release, Hippie Trance, for a remix entitled “The Brown Acid Flashback!” This is an extended version of our popular single release, “The Brown Acid.”

The Brown Acid Flashback

As in the original release, this is a 140 BPM trance song by The Hell Raisin’ Hippies. The song was inspired by and includes the infamous “brown acid” announcement at Woodstock, 1969.

According to The Urban Dictionary, the announcement to warn concert-goers of alleged ‘bad acid’ was first made by ‘Chip Monck’ and later repeated by the famous radio disc jockey ‘Wavy Gravy‘. The Monck audio itself lives forever in time! We have included the original announcement made at Woodstock into an ‘electronic/dance’ track.

The web often misquotes the infamous brown acid announcement. Here are the exact words spoken in the announcement:

To get back to the warning that I’ve received, you may take it with however many grains of salt you wish, that the brown acid that is circulating around us is not specifically too good. Its suggested that you do stay away from that, but its your own trip so be my guest. But, please be advised there is a warning on that one, okay?
